Michael A. Griffin, O.D.
Dr. Griffin is a native of Blakely, GA and a graduate of Valdosta State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1993.
Dr. Griffin has practiced in Dothan since 1997. He is a member of both the Alabama Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
In his free time, Dr. Griffin enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family
Lauren E. Albert, O.D.
Dr. Albert joined Dothan Optometric Clinic in 2016. She was raised in a military family and completed her high school education in Hartford, AL.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from Troy University. Dr. Albert received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her training, she completed an internship at Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center and helped to provide eye care to underprivileged populations through UAB’s outreach program. She is a member of both the Alabama and American Optometric Associations.
Outside of the office, Dr. Albert enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Megan M. Walker, O.D.
Dr. Walker was born and raised in Falls Church, Virginia. After graduating with a BS degree from Radford University, she moved to Birmingham to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005.
Following graduation, she completed a residency at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 2006. Then she moved to Dothan Alabama to provide eyecare to the great people of the Wiregrass.
She recently joined Dothan Optometric Clinic and is excited to continue caring for her patients at her new location, and is accepting new patients as well. Dr. Walker is a member of the American Optometry Association, as well as the Alabama Optometric Association.
When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children at their family farm.
John E. Hornsby, O.D.
Dr. Hornsby is a native of Samson, Alabama. After graduating there, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science and Mathematics from The University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1981. He then attended the UAB School of Optometry from which he earned and was awarded his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985.
After graduating, Dr Hornsby established and maintained a full scope, solo private practice in Geneva Alabama for 24 years. In 2014, Dr Hornsby began practicing full time in Dothan Alabama as part of the staff at Denney Vision Technologies, now known as Vision Center South. Finding the "corporate optometrist" style of practice a bit too impersonal, Dr Hornsby in March 2023, joined and became the newest member of the staff of The Dothan Optometric Clinic.
Dr Hornsby lives in Dothan with his wife of 40 years, Lea. Together they have two daughters, Jenna and Erin. Dr Hornsby and Lea are members of Covenant United Methodist Church of Dothan where Lea is the pianist and organist and Dr. Hornsby is active in the church orchestra.
Apart from his professional life, Dr. Hornsby enjoys the outdoors, primarily hunting and fishing, and music. Dr. Hornsby has played the lead alto sax for past 21 years for a local 18 piece big band known as The Dothan Moonlighters.
Dr. Hornsby is accepting new patients and welcomes all former patients, old friends, to come and see him at his new location at The Dothan Optometric Clinic.
